Location: St Austell, Cornwall
Type: Full-time Permanent In-Person
Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 (DOE)
Hours: (Mon-Fri, 8:00am-5:15pm, 30-min break)

Are you ready to turn technical drawings into real-world impact?

A well-established and forward-thinking engineering company is looking for a Structural Design Engineer who thrives on challenge, innovation, and collaboration. If you're excited by solving complex design problems, working on cutting-edge M&E projects, and seeing your designs come to life, we want to hear from you.

This is a rare opportunity to join a growing business where your work won't be lost in layers of bureaucracy. You'll take ownership of diverse projects, lead design decisions, and shape outcomes-working shoulder-to-shoulder with passionate professionals who value precision and creativity equally.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Taking the lead on structural engineering across all mechanical and electrical enquiries
  • Translating customer needs into robust, buildable designs using tools like AutoCAD, Revit, and RSTAB
  • Designing and drafting steel framing systems and 3D models for plant and support structures
  • Creating detailed material take-offs to help move designs seamlessly into production
  • Conducting site visits to see your designs in action and refine them where needed
  • Navigating complex technical challenges with a creative, can-do mindset
  • Overseeing project workflows, collaborating across teams, and delivering high-quality results
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members to grow alongside you

What You Bring

  • A degree in Engineering (Structural preferred)
  • Proven experience in structural design, calculations, and steelwork connections
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, RSTAB, Navisworks, and BIM environments
  • Solid understanding of M&E systems and building regulations
  • Strong organisational skills with a sharp eye for detail
  • Excellent communication-confident with clients, colleagues, and contractors
  • A hands-on, solutions-first approach to challenges
  • Curiosity, ambition, and a love for learning new technologies

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Work in a tight-knit team where your input matters
  • Tackle interesting and meaningful design projects-not just templates and redlines
  • Develop skills across structural, M&E, and BIM domains
  • Be part of a culture that's friendly, reliable, can-do, and knowledgeable
  • Opportunity for real career growth within a dynamic company
