Education and Eligibility

Education required: To apply for this placement, you must be currently studying an undergraduate degree in a range of degrees including but not limited to business management, finance, risk management and communications.

Other requirements: You will have completed a minimum of 2 years of your undergraduate degree but will not have graduated at the start of your placement. You must be enrolled at a UK or ROI university for the duration of your placement.

If you have already graduated with a Bachelor's Degree and are currently studying a postgraduate Masters, you are not eligible for this programme.

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Expected Start date: June 2026

Duration: 1 year (approximately)

Compensation and Work Arrangements

Salary: A salary of £25,400 plus a bonus.

Workplace Arrangements: Flexible working via performance with choice (office & home working may be available)

The Role and Learnings

Overview of the Department: Research & Development Engineering Services provides facilities management, engineering and capital project services tailored to the needs of R&D, ensuring safe, reliable, compliant and sustainable environments across multiple sites and countries.

There are multiple roles available within the department across Strategy & Governance as well as Risk & Compliance teams, offering opportunities to collaborate with key stakeholders and develop project management and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate: possesses skills for strategy, governance, risk and compliance within the RDES department. This placement is not intended for engineering undergraduates.

Key Placement Learnings
  • Gain experience in an industry leading business, building transferable skills and networking with professionals.
  • Perform data analysis to track progress against KPIs and inform decision-making.
  • Support the design and deployment of communications and engagement plans.
  • Project manage the transition of services to a new Enterprise Facilities Management contract.
  • Identify and implement business process improvements.
  • Support preparation for internal and external audits to maintain regulatory licence.
  • Perform local management monitoring to ensure policy adherence.
