Overview

Strategic Sourcing Manager, Global Corporate Procurement - Amazon UK Services Ltd. Amazon is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager to join the Global Corporate Procurement (GCP) Team. The role supports the Corporate Procurement function in developing sourcing strategies and negotiating long-term partnerships, with a focus on Professional Services. The position is office-based, with flexibility considerations encouraged for unique needs.

Responsibilities
  • Establish strong relationships with internal business stakeholders; understand strategic business direction, requirements, and priorities across assigned suppliers and/or spend categories.
  • Dive deep across multiple business units to optimize performance, quality, and cost by leveraging the supplier base.
  • Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning using industry cost models and benchmarking; use insights to inform and support the strategic sourcing strategy.
  • Manage sourcing fundamentals and supplier engagement activities, including RFx, spend pattern analysis, contract analysis, bid evaluation, negotiations, and supplier consolidation.
  • Identify sourcing opportunities via spend analysis tools and consolidate requirements across categories, suppliers, and geographies.
  • Collaborate with business and finance leaders to identify and drive savings and controllership improvements, optimizing ROI and total cost of ownership.
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement processes and best-practice tools (e.g., category management, supplier evaluation, supplier diversity).

Key coverage areas: Marketing, Professional Services, Employee Services, Technology, Logistics, Real Estate and Facilities services.

Basic Qualifications
  • Demonstrated strategic sourcing experience, including experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation.
  • In-depth experience in best-in-class procurement practices (category management, benchmarking, RFX, contracting, etc.).
  • Experience leading complex sourcing initiatives across Professional Services.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS/BA Degree
  • Skilled negotiator with proven experience in setting negotiation strategies and leading negotiations
  • Knowledge of the basic types of commercial agreement structures and the function and purpose of key legal terms.
  • An analytical thinker who can draw conclusions from large data sets
  • Customer-focused self-starter with integrity and ethics
  • Experience working in a large, global, highly matrixed organization
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize and draw conclusions from large amounts of data
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects with communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
