We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Specialty Trainee (StR) Lower in Adult Psychiatry to join our NHS client in Inverness, Inverness-shire. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain experience across both inpatient services and the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT), supporting adults with a range of mental health conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver psychiatric care under supervision for adult patients in an inpatient setting.
- Participate in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for individuals with conditions such as depression, anxiety, psychosis, and bipolar disorder.
- Work collaboratively with the CMHT to support continuity of care and effective discharge planning.
- Engage in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to case discussions.
- Support clinical documentation and care planning in line with NHS standards.
- Participate in clinical audits, teaching sessions, and service improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and carers to ensure person-centred care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Enrolled in a recognised psychiatry training programme (StR Lower level)
- Experience in adult mental health services (inpatient and/or community)
- Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical reasoning skills
- Commitment to professional development and reflective practice
