Responsibilities- Manage the receipt, inspection, and booking-in of parts, materials, and components
- Control stock levels to support prototype builds, development activities, and low-volume production
- Issue parts and kits to engineering, build, and production teams in line with build schedules
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or stock management systems
- Coordinate storage, labelling, and organisation of parts to ensure traceability and accessibility
- Support prototype and vehicle build programmes by ensuring timely availability of materials
- Manage goods-in and goods-out processes, including packing and despatch of components
- Liaise with procurement, engineering, and suppliers to resolve shortages, discrepancies, or damaged items
- Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts, investigating and resolving variances
- Maintain stores areas to high standards of housekeeping, safety, and organisation (e.g. 5S, PPE, risk assessments)
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within stores and materials handling processes
- Ensure compliance with company quality, health, safety, and environmental policies
- Proven experience in a stores, logistics, or materials coordination role
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy in stock control and documentation
- Confidence using ERP, MRP, or stock management systems
- Good communication skills and ability to work closely with cross-functional teams
- Proactive, reliable, and hands-on approach to work
- Understanding of basic supply chain, inventory, or materials management principles
- Valid forklift reach Truck licence and with proven operational experience
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- 3 - 5+ years' experience in warehousing, logistics, or material handling
- Strong stock control and cycle counting experience
- Experience using WMS systems (e.g. SAGE)
- Confident operation of MHE (forklifts, pallet trucks)
- Experience working in manufacturing or fast-paced environments
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain desirable
- Experience supporting or guiding junior staff advantageous
- Full Driving License
- Experience with Lean, 5S, kaizen, or continuous improvement beneficial
- Experience handling high-value, sensitive, or hazardous goods advantageous
