Are you an organised, hands on professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment? We are looking for a Store Co-ordinator to support the daily operation of a scientific stores function within a Research & Development environment. This is a highly active and physical role where you will be responsible for receiving, handling, storing, and distributing laboratory consumables, chemicals, solvents, and other scientific materials. You will play a critical role in ensuring researchers have the right materials available when they need them, while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. You do not need a scientific background to be successful in this role. Candidates with experience in retail, stockrooms, warehousing, logistics, or inventory management are encouraged to apply. If you bring a strong customer focused mindset, excellent organisational skills, and a willingness to learn, we will provide all the necessary training to help you develop the technical and scientific knowledge required for the position.
What You'll Do As a Store Coordinator, you will:- Manage stock inventory and ensure materials are available to support laboratory operations.
- Receive, inspect, store, and distribute scientific consumables and laboratory supplies.
- Operate stock management systems to track inventory movements and stock levels.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for researchers regarding inventory and stock related queries.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Create and maintain documentation, reports, and stock records.
- Generate barcodes and maintain shelf labelling systems.
- Monitor stock usage trends and proactively manage replenishment activities.
- Investigate stock shortages, delivery lead times, and suitable alternatives when required.
- Handle materials requiring special storage conditions, including hazardous and temperature sensitive products.
- Support KPI reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and security requirements.
- Assist during internal audits and regulatory inspections.
- Archive and maintain documentation in accordance with procedures.
This position is primarily based within a scientific R&D facility and storeroom environment, with some administrative and computer based work.
The role involves:- Frequent walking throughout the facility.
- Standing for extended periods.
- Bending, reaching, lifting, and carrying materials.
- Manual handling of products typically weighing up to 20 kg.
- Working with laboratory supplies, solvents, chemicals, and other materials that may require special handling procedures.
- Following strict safety, security, and compliance requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:- Previous experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, stores, inventory management, or materials handling environment.
- Experience using inventory or stock management systems.
- Strong understanding of stock control processes and inventory accuracy.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Self motivated, dependable, and proactive.
- Customer focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A confident problem solver who can effectively manage competing priorities.
- Comfortable working with data, reports, and IT systems.
- Able to build effective relationships with internal teams, suppliers, and stakeholders.
- Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic working environment.
