Store Manager - Convenience

As a Store Manager, your role as 'shopkeeper' means you run your own store with an entrepreneurial spirit, prioritizing your customers, colleagues, and local communities. You'll lead your team to ensure the store is a great place to work and shop.
Reporting to the Area Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team to create a customer experience that is the best in the market, aligned with the Morrisons brand, and continuously seeking new ways to serve customers better.
- Driving the store's commercial performance, managing it as if it were your own business, and exploring new opportunities for improvement.
- Managing all people activities, including recruitment, induction, training, and development, to build an inclusive culture where everyone can deliver excellent customer service.
- Building and maintaining relationships, understanding the store's role in supporting the local community.
About you: Our Store Managers often have experience in fast-paced, service-focused environments such as retail, convenience, or hospitality. While not essential, the following qualities are important:
- A passion for spotting and developing talent.
- Ability to coach, motivate, and inspire to foster a successful team culture.
- Influencing skills, active listening, and understanding diverse perspectives to innovate and improve.
- A proactive approach to supporting the team in achieving store objectives.
- Resilience and problem-solving abilities.
At Morrisons, we are committed to developing our people through our Leadership School, offering leadership and technical training to help you succeed. Your hours will be flexible, driven by customer and business needs, including early mornings, late nights, and weekends.
Due to our large Home News Delivery operation, the role may involve interacting with children under 16, requiring an enhanced DBS or PVG check. Some stores also offer post office services, requiring a P250 financial check, which is mandatory for employment.
