Job Description
Position Overview

Store Assistant Manager - Retail - Permanent, 21 hours per week (Monday-Sunday rota). Salary: £26,229 per annum (pro rated £15,300 for a full time equivalent). Location: Sydenham, South East London. Closing date: 7 July 2026.

Responsibilities
  • Report to the Store Manager and execute tasks delegated by them, or lead the store in their absence, including opening and closing duties.
  • Oversee all aspects of the stock journey - sorting, pricing, displaying donations, and completing sales.
  • Supervise a team of volunteers, fostering a welcoming environment and ensuring store objectives are met.
  • Maintain store standards and provide excellent customer service during busy, fast paced periods.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in a busy, hands on retail environment.
  • Strong customer facing skills with a track record of delivering high quality service.
  • Retail experience is desirable but not mandatory.
  • Management or supervisory experience is advantageous.
  • Excellent people skills and the ability to lead and motivate volunteers.
  • Effective problem solving, ability to work under pressure, and self motivation.
