We are seeking an experienced Storage SME with strong backup expertise for a 6 month contract role This role requires both consultancy and hands on engineering skills. For the first three months, you will act as a consultant to review the previous backup migration, identify gaps, and recommend improvements. You will then lead and execute the migration itself.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess the existing backup migration, highlighting issues and opportunities for improvement
• Define and document a fit-for-purpose backup and storage strategy aligned with business requirements
• Provide consultancy and architectural input on Commvault-based solutions
• Act as the technical lead for the backup migration, ensuring best practice implementation
• Deliver hands-on engineering for storage and backup deployment and configuration
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical delivery with operational needs

What You Will Ideally Bring:

• Proven expertise with Commvault (essential) and experience with enterprise backup tools (eg, NetBackup)
• Strong knowledge of storage infrastructure and backup/restore strategies across on-prem and cloud environments
• Experience acting as both consultant/architect and hands-on engineer in storage/backup projects
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to review, design, and implement backup migration strategies

Contract Details:

• Duration: 6 months (view to extension)
• Day Rate: up to £500 per day (Inside IR35)
• Location: 1 day In London
• Start Date: ASAP
