Standards Support Specialist (Interim - 4 Months)
Location: Pierson Road, The Enterprise Campus, Alconbury Weald, Huntingdon, PE28 4YA (with occasional travel to other sites)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday
Contract: Fixed-Term, 4 Months

We are seeking a Standards Support Specialist (Interim) to provide focused support during a critical audit preparation period. This role offers the opportunity to make an immediate impact by strengthening our QMS, reviewing SOPs, and ensuring the business is audit-ready.
The Role
As a Standards Support Specialist (Interim) , you will work closely with the Head of Fortress Standards and the Technical Auditor to:
Review and update SOPs, risk assessments, and QMS documentation.
Support the business in preparing for internal, customer, and third-party audits.
Investigate non-conformances and drive corrective actions.
Collaborate across Technical, Operations, and Standards teams to embed a compliance-first culture.
This role requires an individual who is technically strong, detail-oriented, and able to quickly understand and align with customer and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System & Documentation
Review, update, and maintain QMS documentation to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
Ensure SOPs, risk assessments, and related documents are accurate, up-to-date, and implemented consistently.
Support standardisation of processes and documentation across multiple sites.
Audit Preparation & Compliance
Prepare for internal, customer, and third-party audits, focusing on GMP and Food Safety & Integrity standards.
Identify potential gaps or risks and drive timely corrective actions.
Coordinate audit preparation activities alongside the Technical Auditor.
Non-Conformance & Root Cause Analysis
Investigate non-conformances and develop corrective and preventative action plans.
Apply structured root cause analysis to ensure sustainable solutions.
Monitor completion of corrective actions within agreed timelines.
Collaboration & Communication
Work with Technical, Operations, and Standards teams to ensure alignment and effective compliance activities.
Provide clear, timely updates to the Head of Fortress Standards.
Share best practices and support the embedding of a compliance-first culture.
About You
You are a dependable and technically proficient compliance professional with experience in quality management, SOP development, and audit preparation. You thrive in fast-paced environments and have a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Essential Skills & Experience
Proven experience in a quality, compliance, or technical role within food, horticulture, FMCG, or related sectors.
Strong understanding of customer Codes of Practice and audit standards.
Experience in risk assessment and SOP development/review.
Knowledge of audit processes, including GMP and Food Safety standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including root cause analysis.
Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable Skills & Experience
Experience preparing for customer audits (e.g., TOPS, OHAS, Food Safety & Integrity).
Background in multi-site quality management.
Familiarity with lean tools for compliance improvement.
