About us

St James's Hospital is Ireland's largest acute academic teaching hospital and is based in Dublin's south inner city. Purpose of the role

The delivery of mental health nursing is underpinned by the therapeutic use of self and a holistic approach. The promotion of mental health and wellbeing and the adoption of the principles of recovery are facilitated in conjunction with service user choice.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care to the highest professional and ethical standards within the model of nursing care practiced in the relevant care setting.
• Provide holistic, person centred care, promoting optimum independence and enhancing the quality of life for service users.
• Promote mental health and wellbeing and adopt principles of recovery in service user care.
