Job Description
We are currently hiring Staff Nurse-Cardiology to join a reputed hospital in Dublin, Ireland.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to cardiology patients throughout their admission, treatment, and discharge journey.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans to meet the physical, emotional, and clinical needs of patients.
- Monitor patient conditions closely and respond promptly and effectively to clinical deterioration, cardiac events, and emergency situations.
- Administer medications, intravenous therapies, and cardiac-related treatments safely in accordance with hospital policies and Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) guidelines.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential patient documentation using approved clinical systems, protocols, and record keeping procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, medical staff, and multidisciplinary teams, including the use of the ISBAR handover process to ensure continuity of care.
- Promote a safe, compassionate, and patient centred environment while adhering to infection prevention, health and safety, and professional practice standards.
- Support, mentor, and guide student nurses, newly qualified nurses, and healthcare assistants to encourage professional growth and safe clinical practice.
- Participate actively in quality improvement programmes, clinical audits, accreditation activities, and continuous professional development initiatives.
- Assume responsibility for the coordination of the ward and deputise for the Clinical Nurse Manager when required, demonstrating leadership and effective decision making skills.
- Be registered as a General Nurse on the live register maintained by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Possess a minimum of 1 year post registration nursing experience within an acute healthcare setting.
- Previous experience in cardiology nursing or a related specialty area is desirable.
- Demonstrate experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Possess strong clinical assessment, patient care, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Exhibit excellent organisational, prioritisation, and clinical decision making abilities in a fast paced environment.
- Hold current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as an essential requirement.
- Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification is desirable depending on the clinical area and service requirements.
- Demonstrate good IT proficiency and accurate clinical documentation skills using healthcare systems and electronic records.
