We are currently recruiting a Staff Nurse - Cardiac and Acute Care Unit to join our client's hospital in Galway, Ireland.
Full-Time 37.5 Hours per Week
- Deliver high-quality nursing care and clinical treatments in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures and professional guidelines.
- Participate in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care using the nursing process, while maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Contribute to effective discharge planning by assessing and addressing individual patient care needs and coordinating appropriate arrangements.
- Safely administer medications, intravenous drugs, blood and blood products, and controlled drugs in line with hospital policies and professional standards.
- Monitor patients following the administration of medication(s) or treatments, accurately document outcomes, and promptly report any adverse reactions, incidents or medication errors.
- Follow best-practice infection prevention and control procedures and promptly identify, manage and report infections in accordance with hospital protocols.
- Work collaboratively with the Infection Control Nurse and multidisciplinary team to maintain high standards of infection prevention and patient safety.
- Handle, segregate and dispose of clinical and medical waste safely and appropriately in accordance with hospital guidelines.
- Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMBI registration or eligibility for registration in the General Nurse Division
- Minimum 1-2 years of post-registration nursing experience, preferably in Coronary Care or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) settings
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team while delivering a high-quality nursing service
- Strong personal and professional accountability for the delivery of safe, patient-centred care
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills
- Flexible and adaptable approach to working patterns, with the ability to rotate between day and night shifts
