Salary £42,943 - £50,899.45 per annum, inclusive of all allowances and a £6,000 Recruitment & Retention Premia for High Secure Services plus a Broadmoor Hospital Allowance.

Job Overview

Broadmoor High Secure Hospital. Registered Mental Health Nurse. The post holder will carry out duties as designated by the nurse in charge, report on the patient's condition, maintain ward orderliness, hygiene and safety, and undertake routine clerical duties.

Main Duties

You will be joining a team committed to providing high-quality safe care to complex patient groups with challenging individual needs in a high secure setting.

  • Provide registered mental health nursing care under the High Secure Services.
  • Assess and manage patient mental health needs in accordance with the Mental Health Act.
  • Maintain the safety and hygiene of the ward environment.
  • Record and report patient progress and clinical observations.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and care planning.
Qualifications and Training
  • Registered Nurse (Mental Health) on the NMC Register (sub part 1: RN3 or RNMH, sub part 2: RN4).
  • Current portfolio of evidence demonstrating NMC revalidation compliance.
  • Completion of a preceptorship programme.
  • Diploma / Degree in Nursing, ENB 770 or equivalent in a specialist field.
  • NVQ Assessor status or relevant post registration health care qualifications.
  • Leadership & coaching qualification.
Experience
  • General mental health experience from a nursing university programme or work setting.
  • Previous experience in a care environment.
  • Evidence of being an inspirational leader.
Knowledge
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in mental health nursing practice and current trends.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act and the Code of Professional Conduct.
  • Awareness of professional and organisational developments.

  • Strong communication, rapport building and written skills.
