Role and responsibilitiesCatering Assistants are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe working environment. You will assist in the delivery and service of food and drinks in the main Food Hall, including staff and visitors functions and events both in Raigmore and at external venues.

Post duties may include handling and serving food and beverages in a healthcare setting, and supporting good hygiene and safety practices in line with policy.
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
QualificationsAn Elementary Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable; full training will be provided and you are expected to sit your Food Hygiene Certificate within 3 months of taking up the post if you do not already possess it.
Eligibility and sponsorshipThis role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Health and Care Worker visa. NHS Highland is unable to provide candidates with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) for this role.
Additional information for candidates- Effective from 1st April 2026, the Agenda for Change full-time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part-time hours will be adjusted on a pro-rata basis. There will be an increase in the hourly rate to ensure that pay remains unaffected.
