SSBN JRT Manager (Open) - Submarines

Location: Devonport. Employment type: Full Time.

An excellent opportunity has arisen at our Devonport Site as SSBN JRT Manager. In this role you will lead the SSBN Joint Reactor Team (JRT), providing leadership, direction and engineering oversight to support Babcock in the successful delivery of the reactor maintenance schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the prime Engineering and Programme interface for the relevant package of work.
• Manage safety aspects of any solution.
• Serve as the prime Customer technical interface for the relevant project.
• Manage and deliver the project technical solution defined in the statement of work in accordance with Project policy.
• Provide Programme and Technical leadership and support to the project team while complying with the Engineers Function's policies throughout the project lifecycle.
• Maintain a programme to ensure all activities are fully compliant with the company quality system.
• Develop and communicate the plan and budget for delivering the work on time; manage all costs and resources to ensure delivery.
• Implement effective technical Risk Management and mandatory Project Gated Review Processes, applying HS&E policy and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Ensure appropriate resources are deployed, directed, and coordinated.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering team.
• Qualified to at least degree level.
• Domain knowledge commensurate with focus and size of the package.
• Understanding of Product Change control including PCB (Product Change Board) and DDRAM (Design Definition Review and Audit Meeting) and Product Introduction Lifecycle Management.
• Project Management experience in planning, controlling budgets and driving to schedules.
• Engineering and technical competence sufficient for decision making commensurate with the size of the package.
• Experience applying Systems approach or equivalent (Robust Design lead, Black belt, etc.).

Security & Nationality

To work for Rolls Royce Submarines you must hold a Security Check (SC) clearance without any caveats. Rolls Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you don't already have it. Due to the nature of work and protection of certain assets, you must hold UK nationality. Dual nationals will require additional scrutiny and background checks prior to commencing work.
