EduTalent Group are supporting a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Tonbridge that is seeking an experienced teacher to support their Specialist Resource Provision (SRP). The role involves working with a small class of pupils with Autism within a structured and supportive environment, alongside experienced Teaching Assistants and a dedicated Centre Leader who oversees practice across the provision. The school is seeking a teacher for 2 to 2.5 days per week.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver structured and engaging lessons for a small class of 8 to 10 pupils with Autism
- Use effective autism friendly strategies to support learning and behaviour
- Create a calm, supportive and well managed classroom environment
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants to support individual learning needs
- Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils' communication, social and emotional development
- Monitor and assess pupil progress and adapt strategies where required
- Collaborate with the wider SRP team, including another SRP class and the Centre Leader
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, wellbeing and inclusive practice
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification
- Experience working with pupils with Autism
- Strong knowledge of autism strategies and inclusive teaching approaches
- Excellent behaviour management and classroom management skills
- Ability to work effectively with Teaching Assistants and support staff
- A patient, adaptable and supportive approach to teaching
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to applyPart time role from 1st May to 17th July
- 2 to 2.5 days per week (Thursdays and Fridays)
- Opportunity for an additional Monday afternoon where possible
- Small class size of 8 to 10 pupils with Teaching Assistant support
- Support from a dedicated Centre Leader within the SRP
