Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Sports Turf & Grounds Officer to join our Property and Works team. This role is responsible for ensuring our sporting ovals and grounds are presented to the highest standard and are safe, high-performing, and match-ready for training, competitions, and major events.

  • Prepare and maintain sporting ovals to ensure they are safe and match-ready for training, games, and events
  • Undertake mowing, edging, aerating, top dressing, watering, and general turf management
  • Complete accurate and professional line marking across multiple sports and competitions
  • Monitor ground conditions and proactively identify issues such as wear, drainage concerns, or surface hazards
  • Perform general grounds maintenance including garden care, rubbish removal, pressure cleaning, and minor repairs
  • Assist with bump-in and bump-out requirements for events, functions, and major club activities
  • Liaise with club management and relevant sporting bodies regarding field availability and maintenance scheduling
  • Ensure machinery, equipment, and work areas are operated and maintained safely in accordance with WHS requirements
Key Selection Criteria
  • Demonstrated experience in sporting oval maintenance and the safe operation of relevant turf equipment
  • Minimum three (3) years' experience in a similar role
  • Proven ability to work independently, display initiative, and contribute to planning and liaison with Local Council
  • Strong understanding of turf management principles and seasonal maintenance requirements
Essential Qualifications
  • Certificate III or IV in Horticulture, Parks and Gardens, or equivalent experience
  • Current Positive Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)
