Sports Coach

Purpose: To plan and deliver curriculum coaching sessions in designated sports to pupils. To assist with fixtures, including Saturdays, as required.

Accountable to: Director of Sport

Responsible for: Delivering curriculum games coaching and competitive school matches.

Context of the Role

The PE and Sports Department is responsible for the preparation and delivery of a wide-ranging programme of physical activity across two sites: the Senior School on East Hill in the centre of Ashford and the Prep School in Great Chart. The School's major sports include cricket, football, hockey, netball and rugby.

Key Responsibilities

Plan and deliver curriculum coaching sessions for pupils at the Senior School.

Assist with competitive school matches, including coaching, managing and officiating as required.

Person Specification

Expertise and/or experience coaching football, hockey and rugby.

Excellent interpersonal skills, with a warm and approachable manner when interacting with staff, pupils and visitors.

Excellent organisational skills.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

To be agreed.

Salary

£25 per hour.

Hours

Monday: 11:00am to 1:00pm

Tuesday: 11:00am to 4:00pm

Wednesday: 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Thursday: 2:00pm to 4:00pm

Friday: 2:00pm to 4:0pm

Saturdays: Subject to availability.

Holiday

This is a term-time only position, with additional days required immediately prior to the start of each term. The academic year is typically no more than 175 working days, which is significantly fewer than in the maintained sector.
