Are you a passionate Sports Coach looking to take your skills into education? Want a flexible and rewarding role working in mainstream secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent?

About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for Sports Coaches looking to transition into the classroom, gain valuable school experience, or secure flexible education work that fits around their schedule.

As a Sports Coach and Cover Supervisor, you will:

  • Deliver pre-set lesson plans across a range of subjects
  • Manage classroom behaviour confidently and effectively
  • Ensure students remain on task and engaged
  • Support pupils' learning in the absence of the regular teacher
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff
  • Use your existing coaching, leadership and communication skills to support students

Your experience as a Sports Coach makes you an excellent candidate for this role. Your behaviour management, leadership, confidence, teamwork and ability to engage young people are all highly transferable skills that can be used effectively within the classroom.

Requirements

To be considered for the Sports Coach - Cover Supervisor role, you will need:

  • Experience working with children or young people - sports coaching experience is ideal
  • Strong group management and behaviour management skills
  • Confidence working with secondary-aged pupils
  • A professional, reliable and enthusiastic approach
  • An Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
  • The right to work in the UK

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

Experience working with children or young people (sports coaching ideal).
