Sports Coach - Leeds

About the role

Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Sports Coach to join our school in Bradford in the capacity of a Teaching Assistant. Working as a valued member of the support staff team, you will use sport and physical activity as a tool to support students' learning, behaviour, and personal development. The role involves working closely with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis, helping them to engage positively with school life and reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Support students during PE lessons, extracurricular activities, and interventions
• Deliver structured sports sessions to small groups and individual students (1:1)
• Foster positive behaviour, teamwork, and engagement through sport and physical activity
• Support students with additional needs to access learning and school life
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
• Encourage participation, confidence, and a healthy lifestyle
• Ensure a safe and inclusive environment in line with school policies

Pre-requisites

• Experience working with children or young people in a school or similar setting
• Coaching qualification or relevant sports-related qualification (desirable)
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively with individuals and small groups
• A positive, patient, and adaptable approach
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
• A genuine passion for supporting young people through sport
