Specialty Doctor Obstetrics & Gynaecology

Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB) wish to appoint a Specialty Doctor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) to be based at Glan Clwyd Hospital, North Wales, to join our friendly and supportive O&G team. These posts are an expansion on our current workforce to develop the service further with the recently opened SuRNICC at Glan Clwyd Hospital.

As part of the Health Board's strategic collaboration with Bangor University, individuals with an interest in teaching and research who can demonstrate and agree a possible contribution to the School can be considered and nominated for recognition through the University's process for granting honorary titlesand help to deliver our shared vision for the North Wales School of Medicine and Health.

Main duties of the job

This post supports the Registrar tier, so previous experience at Registrar level is essential. The post can include 2 sessionsper week dedicated to an academic interest, either study for Postgraduate Certificate Medical Education, or research, depending on the individual interests and service needs.

Job responsibilities

Although not a formal training post, this would particularly suit a doctor wishing to develop their career towards entering specialist training or obtaining CESR.

Person Specification Experience
  • Appropriate experience in training grade posts at Clinical fellow level or above - minimum 3 years
  • Minimum 6 months at Registrar level.
  • UK clinical experience
Knowledge/ Qualification
  • Full GMC registration
  • MRCOG Part I Satisfy UK/EEA Immigration regulations or eligible for work permit
  • Full MRCOG
Basic Skills & Abilities
  • General medical procedures and skills appropriate to the grade
  • Supervision and teaching of junior doctors and nursing staff
  • Ability to write clear concise notes/histories
