Specialty Doctor - Older Adult Psychiatry CMHT- Salford

Position

A full time Specialty Doctor in psychiatry who will work with the community mental health team for older adults in the East Cluster within Salford (Broughton, Swinton, Pendlebury and Prestwich Village). The base location is Swinton and the clinician will be supervised by Dr N Sultana.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical care to older adults within the community; support the East Salford clinical team.
• Participate in MDT meetings, CPAs, professionals' meetings and other Mental Health Act related activities.
• Attend MATs clinics, review patients and conduct home visits for MATS and CMHT patients.
• Diagnose patients and formulate management plans, with supervision as required.
• Handle assessment and management of risk, including vulnerability, suicide risk, health and safety and risk of harm to others.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and local GP partners.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Section 12 approved clinician (or candidate willing to obtain S12 or AC approval).
• Proven ability to diagnose and manage psychiatric conditions in older adults.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative multidisciplinary environment.

Employment Details

No on call rota is required, although provision can be negotiated for those interested.
