Job Description
Specialty Doctor - Early Intervention Psychosis Service (EIS) - Luton

An exciting opportunity has risen for a Specialty Doctor to join the East London NHS Foundation Trust and to work with the Luton CMHT team.

The post holder will support the community case load for Luton Referrals come through the referrals pathway. The candidate will have experience of working in this environment and will be tenacious in providing the best care over prolonged periods of time to achieve optimum outcomes for these patients using all treatment modalities.

Person Specification Qualifications
  • Medical graduation
  • Fully registered with the General Medical Council
  • Membership or Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent qualification (in accordance with Royal College of Psychiatrists guidelines)
  • Approval under Section 12(2) of Mental Health Act 1983, or plan to gain approval within 6 months of appointment.
Knowledge and Experience
  • At least two years experience of psychiatry clinical practice post medical qualification
  • Appreciation and social and cultural factors of relevant to psychiatric practice
  • Experience of and commitment to clinical care of individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions
  • Good working knowledge and experience of the application of the Mental Health Act
  • Experience of clinical work in Acute Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience of working in Early Intervention In Psychosis Services
  • Experience of Quality Improvement projects & Clinical Audit
Organisational Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to work as a part of multidisciplinary, multi-model team
  • Ability to manage complex workloads and support others to do that
  • Consultation skills to services, teams and individuals
  • Commitment to working in multidisciplinary setting
  • Commitment to working with service users on service development
