We are delighted to be offering the opportunity for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team of developing anaesthetists at our Furness General Hospital Site. This is an excellent opportunity for an Anaesthetist to develop further skills in Obstetric Anaesthesia, Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia.
Main duties of the job- You will join a team of Consultants with several Specialist and Specialty Doctors supporting all general services of the hospital including Accident and Emergency department, Theatres covering maternity, Gynaecology, Orthopaedic and trauma, ophthalmology and ENT.
- You will work with some supervision while in theatres, experience dependent.
- On-call shifts provide residential cover over a 2 tier rota for emergency work, principally in theatres, obstetrics and Intensive Care.
- Involvement in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education.
- Assessment and preparation of patients for theatre and provision of immediate post-operative care.
- Actively participate in and present clinical audit.
- Demonstrate evidence based practice where appropriate.
- Undertake and participate in the appraisal process and job planning.
- Satisfy the criteria for revalidation.
- Contribute to service development in areas of special interest and expertise.
- Actively participate in continuing medical education.
- Undertake personal appraisal and job-planning as part of revalidation.
You must hold full GMC with a license to practice.
Person Specification- Relevant Medical Qualification
- Full registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council
- Meets required minimum practice for the role
- Relevant Medical Training Qualifications
- Full Registration and licence to practice with the General Medical Council
- Demonstrable amount of Experience in Anaesthesia
- Ability to use clinical judgement and demonstrate the management of risk
- Show Effective Team Working
- Knowledge of systems and processes within the NHS
