Job Description

There are 8 clinical sessions available within the department of Oral Surgery at the Bristol Dental Hospital.

The post-holder will be expected to provide clinical care to patients withing the scope of Oral Surgery in a specialist referral service.

Main duties of the job
  • Triaging of referrals
  • Consultation clinics with new and existing patients
  • Local anaesthetic lists
  • Conscious sedation lists (depending on Training)
  • Paediatric GA lists (depending on Training)

Person specification Knowledge
  • Knowledge of the scope of a specialist Oral Surgery service
  • Experience in managing oral surgery patients including dental emergencies
  • Evidence of generic clinical skills and potential to develop
  • Experience of participation in clinical audit and quality improvement

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Dental Surgery (or equivalent) with a minimum of 4 years post qualification experience
  • Full UK GDC registration
  • UK Vocational or Foundation training (or equivalent)
  • Dental Core Training (or equivalent) including experience in oral surgery
  • NHS secondary care Oral Surgery experience
  • Other postgraduate training
