Exciting temporary opportunity for a dietitian to join a team of experienced, innovative, friendly and supportive renal dietitians within the NHS GGC Adult Acute Dietetic team.
Renal experience is desirable but not essential as we can offer training. Renal inpatient work includes a renal high acuity ward, which has 8 high dependency beds so a knowledge and experience of complex artificial nutritional support is desirable. It is essential that you have a BSc Human Nutrition & Dietetics OR Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetic Practice OR equivalent Master's level qualification and registered with HCPC. You should have post-graduate clinical experience. The post requires PVG Scheme Membership / Disclosure Scotland Check.
Key roles and responsibilities
- To nutritionally, clinically and socially assess patients referred for nutritional care within this speciality.
- To act on analysis of assessment then plan, advise and communicate to patients/carers (lay or professional) on an appropriate nutritional care plan.
To monitor, evaluate and interpret the effectiveness of dietetic interventions employed in a range of complex pathophysiologies.
- To actively contribute to the Service's clinical effectiveness programme through directed investigative practise.To communicate investigative practise in this speciality to the Dietetic Service and the multi-disciplinary health care team.
