Specialist CAMHS Practitioner/Clinical Psychologist

As an autonomous practitioner you will play a key part in the delivery of high quality service provision that promotes and improves the mental health and well being of children and young people, their families and carers. Managing a complex caseload within the multi disciplinary team setting, the post holder will provide a range of high quality care appropriate to the child or young person's needs which will include full mental health assessment, risk assessment and management, family and social assessment, consultation and therapeutic interventions.
Within a systemic and holistic framework, you will undertake needs led, evidence based, highly skilled assessments and provide therapeutic interventions, ensuring this is done evidencing shared decision making and partnership working with children and young people, their families and carers.
You will provide advice, information, consultation and supervision within the service and externally within your specialist area.
As part of working together you will actively liaise with and support robust partnership working arrangements between the CAMHS team and community partners and other key stakeholders involved with the child across agencies that work within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health THRIVE framework.
This is a clinical post and the expectation of time management is the majority of time will be spent in actual practice.
Main duties of the jobTo assume responsibility for management of a complex caseload and exercise the highest standards of autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment, treatment and discharge of children, young people and their families/carers using specialist knowledge and evaluation of care programmes in collaboration with children, young people and their families/carers liaising with and and referring to relevant agencies as appropriate.

Person Specification Registration/ Accreditation- You must be registered/accredited with a professional body. e.g. NMC, SW England, UKCP, HCPC, BACP
- You must have a recognised qualification in one of the following specialities: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D. Clin Psych) Registered Nursing: RMN/RSCN/RNMH Social Work (CQSW/DipSW) Occupational Therapy
- Qualifications in Psychotherapeutic approaches, e.g., CBT/IAPT qualification and/or accreditation
- Mentorship course ENB998 or equivalent.
- Qualification in research/audit
- You must have substantial post qualification experience of working in Young People's mental health services.
- Experience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (i.e., Inpatient or CAMHS)
- Proven experience of working effectively with people with mental health difficulties in the community and/or inpatient services.
- Extensive experience of assessing and managing risk: including safeguarding.
- Extensive experience of developing and providing evidence based assessments, formulations, and intervention programmes to children, young people and families.
- Experience of liaison and working with a range of other relevant agencies.
- Experience of complex caseload management, frequently dealing with distressing and emotional circumstances, working within a multidisciplinary mental health setting.
- Experience of mentoring and supervision of others.
- Understanding of the principles of Clinical Governance and a willingness to follow Trust Policy and Procedures.
- Post qualification experience of a specific therapy working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
£47,810 to £54,710 a year (pro rata)
