Permanent Position at Penn Hall School, Wolverhampton. Salary: Dependent on experience + SEN Allowance. Hours: 32.4 hours per week. Start date: As soon as possible. Closing date: Monday 11th May noon.
Penn Hall School is a special school in the heart of Wolverhampton, serving currently 151 pupils aged 3 to 19 with a wide range of special educational needs, including physical disabilities, severe learning difficulties, and autism.
When Ofsted inspected us in November 2025 under the new 2025 framework, they found a school operating at a Strong Standard across inclusion, attendance and behaviour, leadership and governance, and personal development and wellbeing. They praised our "open culture of safeguarding" and highlighted the "highly positive relationships between staff and pupils," with staff consistently modelling and expecting positive behaviour.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver creative, engaging lessons tailored to individual pupils.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to design rich, cross-curricular learning experiences.
- Use your subject knowledge (including English, science, and ICT) to connect and deepen learning.
- Build strong, positive relationships that foster independence, confidence, and a love of learning.
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.
- Deep genuine passion for working with young people with special educational needs.
- Be reflective, resilient, and committed to ongoing professional development.
- Share the values of inclusion, respect, and unconditional positive regard.
- Previous SEND experience is welcome, but not essential.
