Job Description
District Nurse Team Leader - North Bridge of Don Team

Aberdeen City Health and Social Care Partnership is seeking a new District Nurse Team Leader to fill a vacancy in the North Bridge of Don Team. Candidates must be experienced District Nurse specialist practitioners with proven transformational leadership skills and enthusiasm for leading a community nursing team.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership, support and clinical guidance to community nursing teams in Aberdeen City localities, ensuring evidence based nursing care to patients.
  • Work closely with the nursing leadership team to influence organisational decision making and take responsibility for whole city projects, such as dementia, vacancy coordination, clinical equipment, manual handling, new graduate nurses, and rewards & recognition initiatives.
  • Collaborate with team members and wider integrated locality teams to create opportunities for learning, development and leadership in their areas of expertise.
  • Apply change management and quality improvement practices to enhance service delivery and continually analyse data to influence resource allocation.
  • Assist with part time hours or job share arrangements if requested by the candidate.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Experienced District Nurse specialist practitioner.
  • Proven transformational leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of change management and quality improvement processes (an asset).
  • Strong data interpretation skills to influence resource allocation.
  • Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage projects.
Additional Information for Candidates
  • From 1/4/26 the full time Agenda for Change working week will be 36 hours per week; part time hours will be reduced pro rata. A corresponding increase in hourly rate will keep pay unaffected.
  • The post operates within the Aberdeen City Low Emission Zone - candidates are responsible for all costs associated with entering the zone.
