Sous Chef - Beautiful Golf Club, Basingstoke Area

c£32,000 + Excellent Benefits (Salary negotiable depending on experience)

We're recruiting for a passionate Sous Chef to join a lovely golf club that forms part of a growing hospitality group. This is a fantastic opportunity for a chef who loves great food, enjoys sharing your passion with guests, and wants to be involved in developing exciting new ideas. The venue offers a busy clubhouse, weddings, private events, a popular driving range, and a fantastic outdoor BBQ and display kitchen. We're looking for a chef who enjoys cooking in front of guests, interacting with people, and bringing energy and personality to the dining experience. Working alongside a talented Head Chef, you'll play a key role in menu development and be encouraged to contribute fresh ideas and creative dishes.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in developing and implementing menus that align with our high standards and innovative culinary vision.
  • Prepare, cook, and plate dishes in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Oversee the kitchen staff in the Head Chef's absence to ensure consistent quality, presentation, and speed of service.
  • Ensure food preparation and storage comply with health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Minimize waste and maintain food costs by adhering to portion control guidelines and proper inventory management.
  • Uphold highest standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
  • Continuously expand current knowledge of culinary trends and techniques to introduce new menu items and flavours
What We re Looking For
  • At least 3 years of experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Former experience as a Sous Chef or equivalent role preferred.
  • Degree or certification in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Solid knowledge of culinary techniques and tools.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a hot and fast-paced environment.
  • Outstanding leadership, time management, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
