Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in leading and managing the kitchen team to ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and service
  • Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating, ensuring all dishes are executed to perfection and according to established recipes and standards
  • Train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.
  • Responsible for maintaining the daily completion and accuracy of HACCP records to ensure compliance with food safety legislation and company standards. Support the Head Chef with stock control procedures, minimising waste and ensure smooth operation of the department.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef in menu development, costing, and inventory management
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen
  • Lead by example, demonstrating professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail in all aspects of the culinary operation
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or senior role in a professional kitchen environment
  • Culinary qualification from a recognised culinary institution preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Creative flair and a passion for culinary innovation
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure
  • Flexibility to work shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
