Role: Sous Chef - Ambleside Inn

The Ambleside Inn is set against a backdrop of breath taking fell views and scenic walking routes, making it the perfect base to explore the beauty of the Lake District. Surrounded by nature's tranquillity and with easy access to some of the area's most picturesque trails, it's a place where you can truly immerse yourself in the stunning landscape.

You'll Fit Right Inn As Sous Chef, you'll be at the heart of our kitchen, ensuring every dish showcases the best of fresh, quality ingredients and reflects our high standards.

Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to maintain consistent excellence across all areas of the kitchen.
  • Lead and manage a talented team, ensuring smooth daily operations, especially in the Head Chef's absence.
  • Contribute to menu development and costing.
  • Maintain high standards in cooking, ensuring dishes reflect quality ingredients.
  • Manage stock control, ordering from nominated suppliers.
  • Oversee kitchen cleanliness and operational tasks.
  • Stay calm under pressure while meeting deadlines with efficiency.
  • Build great relationships across the kitchen, front of house, and management teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience and passion for cooking.
  • Ability to thrive in fast paced environments and stay calm under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships across teams.
