Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent leadership qualities, and a strong background in kitchen operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a vibrant hospitality environment, ensuring the delivery of exceptional dining experiences. The successful applicant will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen activities, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and safety. We are offering a 4 day working week.

Responsibilities

Assist the Head Chef in planning and preparing diverse menus that meet quality standards and customer expectations
Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to health and safety regulations
Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared consistently and to the highest standard
Lead food preparation and cooking processes, maintaining attention to detail and presentation
Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
Enforce strict food safety practices across all kitchen operations
Support team management by training new staff and mentoring existing team members
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service delivery
Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen environment at all times

Qualifications

Proven experience in a supervisory role within a professional kitchen environment
Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, and cooking techniques
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
Solid background in food safety standards and regulations
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is highly desirable
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
Passion for culinary excellence and continuous learning in the hospitality industry
