Overview
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Duties
Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing staff.
Supervise food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistency and quality.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in culinary techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen procedures.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu items and seasonal dishes.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen.
Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Assist in creating staff schedules to ensure adequate coverage during peak times.
Engage with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery.
Qualifications
Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality environment.
Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Experience supervising or managing kitchen teams effectively.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
