Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in culinary arts and a proven track record in food production and kitchen management. As a Sous Chef, you will assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation are maintained. This role requires excellent leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise kitchen staff and ensure efficient food preparation and cooking processes.
Assist in menu planning and development, contributing creative ideas for seasonal dishes.
Oversee food production to ensure consistency and quality in all dishes served.
Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment.
Manage inventory, including ordering supplies and minimising waste.
Collaborate with the Head Chef to implement new recipes and cooking techniques.
Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and cleaned.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
Strong culinary skills with extensive knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Previous experience in supervising or managing kitchen teams is essential.
Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team management and development.
Comprehensive understanding of food safety regulations and best practices.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
A passion for cooking and creating exceptional dining experiences.
