Salary: Up to £39,000 per annum including Service Charge (dependent on experience)
Schedule: 45 - 50 hours per week (Full-time, Weekends, Evenings including Bank Holidays)

Job Overview:

We're seeking a Sous Chef to support the Head Chef in leading our kitchen operations and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and service. You'll play a crucial role in helping us deliver a distinctive and authentic Italian experience while fostering a positive kitchen culture and supporting the development of our culinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations
Supervise and motivate kitchen team members, ensuring a smooth service
Help plan, prepare, and execute menu items to specification and quality standards
Maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen environment in line with food safety and hygiene regulations
Assist in managing stock levels, ordering, and supplier relationships
Uphold kitchen cost controls, portioning, and waste reduction practices
Step into the Head Chef role in their absence, ensuring consistent leadership and service delivery
Contribute ideas for daily specials and seasonal changes in collaboration with the Head Chef

Requirements:
Experience as a Sous Chef or strong Junior Sous Chef in a similar fast-paced environment
Solid understanding of HACCP, food hygiene, and allergen procedures
Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene certificate (Level 3 desirable)
A team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills
A genuine passion for Italian cuisine and a commitment to excellence
Calm and professional under pressure
