Position: Sourcing Manager - Indirect Procurement (EMEA)
Location: Wroclaw, Poland

An international organisation is seeking a strategic and experienced Sourcing Manager to oversee indirect procurement activities across key categories such as Maintenance, Repair & Operations (MRO), Facility Management, Human Resources Services, and Marketing & Communications. This role is focused on the EMEA region and offers the opportunity to drive value through effective sourcing strategies, supplier management, and stakeholder collaboration.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will lead category strategy development, manage supplier relationships, and execute sourcing initiatives that align with business goals. This position requires a proactive professional with strong analytical capabilities, negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently across diverse teams and geographies.

Key Responsibilities

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for assigned indirect categories.
  • Conduct market and spend analysis to identify cost-saving and value-creation opportunities.
  • Define sourcing roadmaps with measurable KPIs and milestones.
  • Monitor market trends and adjust strategies to meet evolving business needs.
Supplier Management
  • Lead sourcing processes including RFx activities, supplier selection, and contract negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain strategic supplier partnerships.
  • Drive supplier performance and innovation initiatives.
  • Manage supplier risk through compliance and contingency planning.
Stakeholder Engagement
  • Collaborate with internal teams across operations, HR, marketing, finance, and IT.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, aligning procurement strategies with stakeholder needs.
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing processes and systems.
Cost Optimisation
  • Deliver annual cost savings and avoidance targets.
  • Utilise procurement tools and advanced Excel techniques for spend analysis and reporting.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for category spend.
  • Identify opportunities for process efficiency and risk mitigation beyond cost reduction.
Process Improvement & Compliance
  • Promote standardisation and process optimisation across the region.
  • Ensure adherence to procurement policies and legal standards.
  • Support digital procurement initiatives and system utilisation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in strategic sourcing or category management, with a focus on indirect procurement.
  • Proven success in managing MRO, Facility Management, HR, and/or Marketing categories.
  • Experience in international, matrixed environments, ideally within EMEA.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Skilled in negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of total cost of ownership.
  • Knowledge of contract law and risk management.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities.

Technical Proficiency

  • Advanced Excel skills (eg, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data visualisation).
  • Familiarity with spend analysis tools and procurement platforms is advantageous.

Language Requirement

  • Fluent English (professional proficiency) is essential.
