Sourcing Manager- C&P

The Sourcing Manager is accountable for managing complex sourcing programs within FBT Procurement, supporting the respective BP businesses.

  • This includes demand management, development of the sourcing strategy and the approach to market based on predefined category strategies, source selection, contract negotiation, creation & maintenance.
  • The job holder is responsible for leading highly complex sourcing projects within the C&P (Customer and Products) indirect categories.
  • The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in managing sourcing projects, along with proven expertise in the relevant spend categories. This should be complemented by excellent communication skills and effective customer management.

In this role You will:

  • Enhancing value for BP across the managed spend categories and related activities
  • Leading complex sourcing projects, RFX activities, commercial and contract negotiations with strategic suppliers in the area of payment services
  • Ongoing tracking and reporting of value delivery (eg. savings)
  • Operational Excellence by ensuring stable, effective and customer-focused service delivery
  • Effective management of the activity triage & workflow with the Business Partners
  • Constantly achieving and delivering against the agreed Performance objectives incl. the respective Key Performance Indicators
  • Ensure effective issue management in line with the agreed operating model
  • Ensure all processes are aligned with relevant ISO accreditation & assisting to the preparation for future accreditation
  • Ensure processes are Embedded & adhered consistently
  • Drive the evolution of the processes managed and foster the continuous improvement mind-set and culture
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with key partners at all levels within the organisation, customers and external service providers
  • Monitor and assuring compliance to BP Business Controls and SOX requirements
  • Proactively develop FBT capability: the skills, competencies and knowledge of the team members, to ensure that members achieve their full potential and are enabled to support the short-long term FBT strategy and growth agenda
  • Provide coaching for the team members to unlock their potential and support their development
  • Represent the Team and the wider FBT Procurement organisation in category meetings with Business Partners and Suppliers as relevant
  • Populate the usage of effective and up-to-date procurement techniques, tools and practices

What You need to be successful:

  • Bachelors' degree or equivalent experience is required (preferably in business studies)
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in sourcing products and/or services
  • Category-specific experience in payment services, understanding payment technologies and/or other indirect categories such as digital marketing, financial services, IT, and more
  • Attitude to manage complex, global or regional sourcing programs with senior partners
  • Experience with e-procurement, workflow tools (Salesforce) and ERP systems, eg. Ariba is an advantage
  • Excellent written & oral communication skill in English (C1) is a must.
  • Knowledge in an additional European language (German, Spanish, Polish, Dutch, Turkish or Portuguese) is an advantage
  • Highly motivated and ambitious to drive value generation to the Business Partners
  • Strong business mind-set and
  • Strong and proven partner relationship management skills incl. experience in engaging senior management levels
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a global Matrix organisations
  • This is an individual contributor role but proven experience in coaching and leading a team with scale and complexity may mean an advantage
  • Transformational approach and ability to inspire change
  • Ability to make decisions in a complex, sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Strong skills in time management, project management, analytical-thinking, prioritization, and organization
  • Broad understanding of negotiation strategies & techniques coupled with strong negotiation skills
  • Knowledge on contract terms and extensive experience with regards to contracting
  • Demonstrated process thinking and experience with a strong focus on continuous improvement
  • High Level of IT proficiency in Microsoft packages
  • A reasonable level of critical thinking and ability to convert a vision & ideas into tangible actions is desirable
