Sounding Out: Flute Teacher

Location: The King's School, Canterbury

Start: September 2026 (Advent Term start date 19/09/2026)

Responsibilities

The position will involve teaching one 45 minute group flute lesson (3 or 4 students per group) and participation in two other musical sessions (assisting with ensemble work / theory etc) on eight Saturday mornings per term. The hours would increase each year as the flautists work their way through the programme.

In addition, the role includes preparing the students for twice yearly showcase performances and being part of the Sounding Out team, working together to support the general musicianship of all the students in the programme. We currently offer violin, trumpet, cello and clarinet lessons and from September 2026, will be expanding to include flute.
