Solutions Architect (SC) - Permanent - Hampshire - £70-75,000 per year plus benefits
Synergize Consulting are now hiring for a Solutions Architect to work at a leading defence client on a permanent basis.
The successful candidate will work within a large and dynamic systems engineering team, to design and implement a range of highly complex solutions that will help to shape the defence industry, as well as being accountable for governing architecture, driving adoption of standards, and managing the long-term health of the IT estate.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining the solution architecture and design for the project to meet business and system requirements, within the project constraints of cost and timescale, and the agreed architectural and technical framework
- Providing project technical authority leadership of the IT solution and associated development team, ensuring that the solution architecture and design is as required and is communicated effectively
- Providing design management and governance through the operation of change and configuration management activities
- Capturing the as-is and to-be application, data and technology architectures for the assigned projects
- Working effectively with the project managers to support the development of the project plan, through assisting with the compilation, reviewing estimates and schedules, and identifying risks and approach to reviews
Experience required:
- A strong background as a Solution Architect, able to demonstrate clear abilities to design cutting-edge technical solutions, ideally with experience gained in a complex, client-facing role
- Excellent knowledge and experience of working within architecture frameworks eg, TOGAF
- Understanding of IT/software development life cycle (including methodologies eg, Agile) and associated reviews, policies, standards, and governance processes
- Proven experience in the design, development, and deployment of major IT applications and how those applications can support the business processes.
- Defence engineering experience would be desirable but not essential
- Technical knowledge of a range of IT business systems from Computer Aided Design (CAD), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) through design, engineering, procurement to supplier management and manufacture.
- Due to the nature of the client, it would be an advantage for candidates to hold, or be eligible and willing to undergo, a certain level of security clearance (SC).
