The department

Our Property Litigation team is based in our Luton branch and provides specialist advice in all areas of commercial and residential property disputes. We act for property owners, landlords, tenants and developers.

The role & key responsibilities

We have an opportunity to join our growing team as a Solicitor. The successful candidate will support Partners as well as having matters in their own name, on which supervision will be given according to experience.

  • Managing a caseload of commercial and residential property disputes, including:
    • commercial lease renewals (1954 Act)
    • rent recovery, dilapidations, service charge disputes and return of deposit disputes
    • forfeiture possession proceedings
    • rights of light, restrictive covenants and easements
    • breach of covenant issues
    • break notices
  • Advising landlords, tenants and property managers on risk mitigation and dispute resolution
  • Instructing and working alongside counsel and experts where necessary
  • Advising clients on available dispute resolution options
Other information
  • Solicitor with minimum 4 years PQE in Property Litigation, preferably Commercial Property Litigation
  • Demonstrates excellent client service delivery and has the ability to work effectively with clients and third parties maintaining a professional and courteous manner at all times
  • Attention to detail and high exacting standard of work
  • Organised - effective time management and prioritisation skills
  • Strong work ethic with a genuine commitment to self-development and improvement
  • Ensures legal knowledge is kept up-to-date and is committed to developing a broad set of skills akin to a modern-day lawyer in a progressive firm
  • Credible past consistent financial performance and established time capture behaviours
  • Experience of and desire to contribute to new business initiatives
