Software Test Engineer (Web Application)

Your responsibilities and tasks:

• Create and execute automated test sequences in accordance with defined test specifications.
• Contribute to the implementation of GEA's test strategy, including the definition, selection, and documentation of test cases.
• Utilize Jira X Ray as a test management tool to manage and track all testing activities.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross site teams and external development partners.
• Analyse, optimise, and refine test plans in terms of time and cost planning, resource allocation, technical feasibility, and test phases.
• Prepare, document, and evaluate test results, including test protocols, reports, and defect descriptions, ensuring full compliance with documentation standards.

Your profile and qualifications:

• Successfully completed (technical) university degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a comparable qualification.
• Professional experience in software development is an advantage.
• Strong methodological knowledge in design validation and testing across all project phases-from requirements analysis to go live.
• Solid understanding of web service architectures (RESTful services, web applications).
• Hands on experience with DevOps, including CI/CD and automation processes.
• Familiarity with embedded systems, Python, and Docker is an advantage.
• Experience with Jira X Ray and standard test management methodologies.
• ISTQB Foundation Level Certification (or higher) is required.
• Strong ability to work independently and take initiative; excellent communication skills; team oriented, resilient, and committed.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in MS Office, operating systems, and databases (e.g., SQL).
• Passion for new technologies and interest in web applications connected to embedded systems, combined with pragmatic judgement and a hands on mindset.
