Job Description
Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Product Test Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Blackwood, Wales.

Our client, a prominent entity in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Software Product Test Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Blackwood, Wales.
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance.
- 6 month initial contract
- 3-4 days per week onsite in Blackwood, Wales.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conducting requirements analysis
- Generating test plans, test cases, and test reports
- Configuring equipment and networks to build test environments
- Executing and analysing tests
- Debugging software integration issues within hardware and software environments
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams for system development
- Managing configuration control
- Analysing and defining task requirements
- Investigating and resolving problems
- Contributing to internal and external meetings
- Providing support to Programme Managers, Task Lead Engineers, Software Development & Testing teams, System Integration, and Specialist Engineering Areas (including Safety, Security, ILS)
Job Requirements:
- Educational qualification in Engineering (system, hardware, software, electronic communications, or computer systems), preferably at degree level
- Experience with HPQC/ALM is desirable
- Understanding of the Software Engineering Life Cycle
- Working knowledge of networking infrastructure
- Proficient in written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
- High attention to detail with strong configuration management skills
- Ability to present at progress reviews and contribute productively
- Capable of analysing and debugging software integration issues
- Knowledge of the BCIP system is advantageous but not essential
- Familiarity with Tactical C4I Systems
- IT literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Personal attributes including motivation, integrity, professionalism, flexibility, commitment, and innovation
- Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment
