Job Description

One of our customers - a Major Global Financial Institution - is looking to hire in Basel, Switzerland a Micro-services Software Engineer with strong experience in C#/.NET Core, microservices, containers (Kubernetes/OpenShift), and event-driven architectures.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and test .NET microservices to enable data connections between external SaaS services and internal applications.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment with existing architecture and patterns.
  • Document design and implementation decisions.
  • Perform requirements analysis, design, and initial testing for the system within a team context.
  • Provide on-call support for deployed microservices (once on-call is introduced).
  • Contribute to discussions on system design and architecture improvements.
  • Ensure microservices are secure, scalable, and maintainable.

Must-have experience

  • At least five years' development experience, of which at least two years should be in C#/.NET Core.
  • At least five years' development experience, of which at least two years should be focused on microservices and containers (Kubernetes or ideally OpenShift).
  • A passion for clean code, software craftsmanship, and automated testing, with the ability to share and promote these practices with others.
  • Strong hands-on experience with message queues (ideally Kafka), relational and non-relational databases, modern CI/CD pipelines, and Enterprise Log Management platforms (eg ELK stack).
  • Solid knowledge of design and integration patterns, particularly event-driven architecture.

Interpersonal skills

  • Ability to take initiative and organize own work.
  • Flexibility and service orientation.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a structured root cause analysis approach.
  • Excellent presentation skills, and strong oral and written English.
  • An open mind and willingness to work with experts from different areas, continually improve, learn, and adapt in a team context.

Nice-to-have

  • experience in financial transactions and operations.

  • A university-level degree in information management, computer science, or a related field.
