Software Engineer

Bolton - 5 days onsite

Up to £64,000 + package

Europe's most successful Integrated Defence Company is currently looking for experienced Software Engineers to join their team in Bolton.

As a Software Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative software solutions that support mission-critical defence projects. Working as part of a highly skilled team, you will contribute to the development of software that controls and integrates multiple subsystems within complex weapons and defence platforms.

What you'll be doing:

Designing, developing, and maintaining software in C++ and C# to meet evolving customer requirements

Working in Agile teams (Scrum) to deliver high-quality, reliable, and maintainable software solutions

Participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle - from concept and design through to integration, delivery, and in-service support

Understanding and integrating software with a variety of subsystems rather than working on a single element

Contributing to the continuous improvement of software engineering practices within the team

What we're looking for:

Strong background in software engineering, with proven experience in C++ and C#

Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle

Experience working in Agile environments

(Desirable) Exposure to Windows OS lockdown and Automated Testing

A proactive mindset with the ability to take ownership of technical challenges

The Software Engineer package includes:

Base salary up to £64,000 depending on experience

Up to £2,500 annual company bonus (based on company performance)

Pension contributions up to 14% combined employer/employee

25 days annual leave + bank holidays, plus up to 15 additional flexi days

Additional information:

Due to workload classification, this role requires 5 days per week onsite in Bolton
