The Managed Fleets team abstracts host and fleet management away from thousands of service teams across Amazon, freeing up engineers to build services and deliver value to our customers. About the RoleWe are looking for a proven leader to help lead teams of exceptional software engineers to tackle some of the hardest problems at global scale. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of delivering highly operable and maintainable software on time, relentlessly high standards for themselves and others, and will drive engineering best practices throughout the team while constantly looking for ways to improve the systems they own.

- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
- Experience in engineering team management.
- Experience in leading the definition and development of multi tier web services.
- Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
- Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
- Experience recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching, and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
