Software Development Engineer II, DSP Performance Tech

The DSP (Delivery Service Partner) team's mission is to underpin Amazon's transportation network, handling all delivery types with scalable, innovative, and low cost operations. The team operates in 18 countries, delivering >10B packages annually, representing the majority of worldwide Amazon Logistics volume.

We empower delivery vendors to build high quality, safe, and sustainable logistics companies. Our foundational tenets - building for global use and creating multi tenant technology - require us to think large and evolve at scale. We continuously strive to exceed customer experience expectations, build on our mobile first strategy, and create highly evolvable systems across all domains of the logistics lifecycle, supporting the work of hundreds of other software developers at Amazon.

We are looking for top notch SDEs to join our world class business software development team.

Responsibilities
  • Ownership of product/feature end to end, from development through production.
  • Ensuring the developed features are scalable, highly available, and free of quality concerns.
  • Collaborating closely with peer engineers to refine design and implementation.
  • Managing and executing against project plans and delivery commitments.
  • Assisting directly and indirectly in hiring and developing technical talent.
  • Creating and executing appropriate quality plans, project plans, test strategies, and processes for development activities in collaboration with business and project management teams.
  • Contributing intellectual property through innovation and driving best practices and patents.
Basic Qualifications
  • 3+ years of non internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • 3+ years of video games industry experience (supporting title development, release, or live ops).
  • Experience programming with at least one commercial programming language.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or an equivalent field.
