Software Developer Apprentice Retail & Asset Solutions (RAS) is one of the UK's leading providers of stocktaking, supply chain auditing, and retail merchandising services. Joining RAS as a Software Developer Apprentice means becoming part of a growing team that values curiosity, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Responsibilities- Work through all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle (planning, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance).
- Write, edit, and maintain functional code using languages such as C#, HTML, CSS, and SQL.
- Identify and apply bug fixes , particularly syntax and functional errors.
- Apply secure development practices to ensure software is not vulnerable to attacks.
- Contribute to a wide range of testing frameworks including unit, integration, and functional testing.
- Work with version control systems such as DevOps.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders via email, Teams, calls, and meetings.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different teams and departments.
- Create and maintain technical documentation , such as use case diagrams and user stories.
- Apply software design approaches and patterns to meet project requirements.
- Exposure to programming languages such as C#, HTML, CSS, and SQL .
- A genuine interest in software development , including personal or hobby projects.
- Some experience writing and testing code.
- A good communicator who enjoys problem-solving.
- Hardworking, curious, and eager to learn.
- A minimum of Grade 4/C in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- Salary: £22,000 per annum
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm
- Holidays: 28 days + Bank Holidays
