Software & Hardware Engineer, £32K- £40K, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire

• Software and Hardware Engineer / Systems Engineer / Project Engineer role to support the development of next-generation hardware and software for rail systems R&D programmes.

• £32K - £40K salary guide + pension + flexible working hours + early finish on a Friday + 25 days holiday and all bank holidays + private health.

A fantastic opportunity for a Software and Hardware Engineer to lead on requirements capture, system design, software architecture, and coding-while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

• You will hold a recognised qualification (HNC / HND / Degree) in an electrical engineering / electronics engineering / systems engineering or similar discipline.

• Any previous experience of control systems / SCADA systems or similar technology used within the rail or closely aligned industry sectors would be advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of system design (schematics, GA, electrical diagrams) and ability to interpret technical drawings.

• Any hands-on experience of software programming would also be advantageous.

• Responsibility for the hardware and software elements of cutting-edge rail R&D projects.

• Define and capture detailed software and hardware engineering requirements with internal and external stakeholders before project kick-off.

• Design and deliver engineering solutions in line with R&D requirements, including designs, drawings, and supporting documentation.

• Support the product testing phase of projects including the setting up of test rigs.

• Review technical specifications and provide technical support to clients, engineers, and suppliers.

• Ensure compliance with company and industry standards policies.
